Finding Greener Solutions to E-waste

A former wetland in Accra Ghana has become home to a dumping site for old consumer electronics. The e-waste is often burned, prompting environmental and health risks, and equipment stripped of their metal. NGO Green Advocacy Ghana is working to improve the situation for workers at the e-waste site with machinery that strips the wires of their casing. This eliminates the need for burning (and thus the toxic fumes) and provides material with higher monetary value as it is cleaner.
