Respecting Indigenous Voices | Lush Summit 2018
Despite it’s beginning 500 years ago, impacts of French, Spanish and British colonization on first people continue to manifest today in North America, in the forms of discrimination, disenfranchisement and oppression by settlers. While resilient indigenous and First Nations communities survive, reconciliation with the past is an ongoing process that native and non-native communities must share and learn from each other in order to build a better future for all. Lush as a global company can champion meaningful solidarity, but only if we listen first. Join three indigenous activists from across Turtle Island in conversation about the past, present and future; the harms of cultural appropriation; and different opportunities to ally with indigenous people across the globe.
