The John Robb Tapes | Daniel Ash

'The John Robb Tapes' is a new series which unearths the incredible archive of old interviews that music journalist John Robb has amassed over the years. Episode 3 is a recent interview with Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, Love & Rockets and Poptone guitarist, Daniel Ash. "Venerated and highly influential, Bauhaus emerged from the post-punk alternative music scene of the early 80s with a string of innovative albums and a powerfully dramatic live presentation. Their music embodied a minimalistic, disconsolate style of post-punk rock unlike any other band." Bauhaus Official Bandcamp Site Daniel talks about the early Bauhaus recording sessions that took place in the now legendary Becks Studio, Northampton, under the auspices of chain smoking recording engineer, Derek Tompkins. What happened in that smoke filled studio was to change the music world forever and spawned the iconic Bauhaus track,'Bela Lugosi's Dead.' The 'Bela Sessions' are to be released on 23rd November, in advance of the bands 40th anniversary. Go to https://bauhaus.bandcamp.com
